Tennis Court Hours:
8 am - 10 pm

Residents use amenities key to enter.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Prime Time:  8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday-Sunday
  • Hours: Tennis Center hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Season: November 1st to April 30th     
  • Lights:  Players may turn on the lights for evening play using the switches located on the outside of each court.  Lights will shut off automatically at 10:00 p.m.  Lights take approximately 20 minutes to come on to full power.
  • Management:  The Village Walk Homeowners Association Board of Directors shall manage all tennis facilities.   Courts will be closed for maintenance, safety considerations or adverse weather conditions as determined by the Board of Directors and implemented by the Town Manager.  All players shall remain off the courts immediately after a heavy rain.                       
  • Lessons:  Only Village Walk designated tennis professionals who have contracted with the Homeowners Association and who have provided proof of current million dollar liability insurance and USPTA or USPTR certification may give lessons on Village Walk courts.  The designated teaching professional may conduct individual and group lessons. These teaching activities are limited to non-primetime during the season and are limited to one court.  Guest are permitted to take leasons on a 1-1 basis with Village Walk residents.
     
  • Guests:  Guests may be on the court on a one to one basis during prime time (i.e., singles: one resident and one guest, doubles: two residents and two guests).
    During PRIME TIME a guest may play once during any given week on 
    VillageWalk courts.  During NON-PRIME TIME at least one resident must be on the Court at all times.  Village Walk league teams must conform to the same rule.  A
    Guest is defined as a person NOT RESIDING temporarily or permanently with a Resident. GUEST'S NAMES MUST APPEAR ON THE SIGN-UP SHEET.
  • Funding of Events: All events that require funding shall present a budget to the Activities Director and all funds shall be collected and disbursed by the Activities Director.

Reservations:

  1. The Doubles Round Robin, open to residents and their resident house guests only, will have a maximum of three courts reserved for play Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  The number of courts necessary will be at the discretion of the Tennis Committee.
  2. Court time may be reserved by residents up to one week in advance. Reservation sheets are posted daily by 8:00 a.m. in the Tennis Center seven days in advance.  You may have to have your activities key to enter the Tennis Center building.
  3. You may sign up for a court once each day in a seven day period during prime time.  YOU MUST COMPLETE PLAYING BEFORE YOU SIGN UP FOR THE SAME DAY THE FOLLOWING WEEK.  All players (first initial and last name) singles or doubles must be signed on the reservation sheet.  You may play as many times as you wish each week if there are open courts.                                                                                                                            
  4. Reservations:  Court time will be limited to 1 ½ hours per reservation during prime time.  Time slots will be 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  At the end of the reserved period, players must promptly relinquish their court to the next reserving players.
  5. No Village Walk sponsored play or tournaments shall be played during prime time.  Any form of tennis activity such as tournaments, league play and special events of any kind must be presented to and approved by the Tennis Committee
  6. The guest ratio of 1-1 applies to any special events approved by the Tennis Committee that require additional players in order to run a successful event for residents
  7. Please have consideration of other players if you are not going to use the
    court you have reserved and remove your reservation from the sheet. Courts that have been reserved will become open for others to use after 10 minutes.
  • General: Tennis only on the tennis courts.  No pets on the courts or in the Tennis Center building.  Proper tennis etiquette shall be observed at all times. Excessive noise, racquet throwing and profanity will not be permitted at any time.
  • Children: Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult unless participating in a children's organized event or taking a lesson.
  • Attire: Tennis shoes, socks, shirts, shorts and skirts are acceptable attire.  The following attire is unacceptable:  running or other than tennis shoes, cut-off jeans or pants, tank tops for men and bathing suits.  Shirts must be worn while on the courts.
